As St. Patrick's Day draws closer, everyone starts to feel at least a little Irish! If you're looking for a fun and festive way to show that you're green at heart, Poughkeepsie has got you covered with "Paddy on the River", a massive celebration of all things Irish! Best of all, you won't have to wait very long to party, as this event is happening this Saturday!
Many of you were probably firmly set into an Irish state of mind last Saturday by attending the Dutchess County St. Patrick's Day Parade, which we previously wrote about here. Now, you can keep the good times rolling for another weekend by going to Paddy on the River this Saturday, March 10th! The party is being held right on the river at Waryas Park in Poughkeepsie from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and will feature tons of Irish music, food, vendors, and beer!
Musical acts set to perform at Paddy on the River include Ireland the Band, McGroovin', The Mighty Ploughboys, and headliner Derek Dempsey!
Make sure you purchase your tickets ahead of time, as the price goes up at the door! The price of admission is $12 per adult and grants you access at noon to the event, vendors, live music, and beer garden (if 21+), plus a plastic collectors cup. For the serious partiers among us, VIP tickets can be purchased for $40 per person. VIP tickets are only available online and include everything listed above, plus access at 11 a.m., 3 beer tickets, and a food voucher for the Mahoney’s Irish Pub VIP tent. For kids 10 and under, admission is free.
